Technician Pay Benefits & Policies

Learn about our essential guidelines and perks

🚗 Fuel Premium

The company pays an additional 5% on top of the average state fuel price for the day of the job. Technicians who find fuel at a lower price keep the savings as additional income, encouraging cost-efficient fuel sourcing.

🛠️ Materials Policy

All materials required to complete a job are fully covered by the company. Technicians can focus entirely on delivering quality work without worrying about material expenses.

✔️ Pre-Approval Pay

All additional pay must be approved in advance. Technicians must inform the company before starting tasks that increase costs, such as hazard work, service tier upgrades, or extra tasks. The company will confirm prices with the client. Work performed without prior approval will not be eligible for additional pay.

🕒 Drive Time

All drive time to and from the job site is included in the total time for each service tier. For example, 3 hours of driving plus 6 hours of work would fall under the Advanced Services tier. Technicians must plan accordingly to stay within the assigned time limits.

👔 Uniform Policy

The company provides and pays for all required uniform items, including boots, undershirts, company hats, company shirts, and suspenders. These items are mandatory and must be worn during work, along with a belt supplied by the technician.

💵 Full Pay Policy

When a job is booked under any tier and completed in less time (e.g., 2 hours of work and 1 hour of driving under the Essential tier), technicians still receive the full tier’s pay, provided no other jobs are scheduled that day. This incentivizes efficient, high-quality work.

🌙 Night Time Rates

Night time rates apply to projects required between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM, at 1.5x the regular pay rate. Jobs starting at 6:00 AM or later do not qualify. This ensures fair compensation for technicians performing late-night or emergency services.

Our Risk and Reward Strategy

We firmly believe in rewarding those willing to take on challenges and risks that others are not. With increased challenges comes higher compensation for contractors who work with Handyman Anderson LLC. Important Hazard Pay Policies

Learn how we handle various risk factors and approvals

🔄 Cumulative Hazards

Hazard premiums are cumulative, meaning that for every additional qualifying hazard present at a job site, the overall hazard level and pay rate increase. For example, a task involving confined spaces and high-voltage electrical work may move from Level 1 to Level 2. This increases your profit opportunity.

📝 Client Approval Required

Hazard pay cannot be applied retroactively without prior approval. Technicians must notify the company of any qualifying hazards, and clients must agree to the hazard premium before work begins. This ensures transparency and fairness for both technicians and clients.

📅 Per Job, Per Day Policy

Hazard Pay is determined per job, per day, based on the qualifying hazards present at each job site. If you perform multiple jobs in a single day for different clients, each job is assessed separately, and you can earn multiple hazard premiums in one day. However, if the same client adds additional hazards during a single job (or a series of tasks at one location), your Hazard Pay escalates to the next hazard level rather than paying out multiple, separate premiums. This approach ensures you’re compensated fairly for every new hazard, whether encountered in distinct jobs or in one cumulative project.

🔒 Safety First

Some projects require working in crawlspaces, attics, on high rooftops, or with high-voltage/amperage systems. These are some of the most common qualifying hazards, and we want every technician to understand the risks and be properly equipped. Before starting any job, we review potential hazards and ensure you have the appropriate training and safety gear. If additional hazards emerge—like a more confined crawlspace or unexpected electrical dangers—we’ll adjust your hazard level to match the risk, ensuring you’re always compensated for the challenges you face. Your well-being is our top priority, and we expect open communication whenever you encounter a new or more serious hazard.

🏆 Rewarding Effort

If a job pushes you into hazard tiers while working, your pay reflects the added challenge—so you’re rewarded for taking on higher risk.

🤝 Fairness Guaranteed

Transparent communication ensures you’re never put into unexpected situations. We value open discussions about job hazards and the corresponding pay. If a qualifying Hazard is encountered on the job we keep our clients informed of the cost every step of the way.
